Staceyann Chin at Ryerson University!!

Last week was International Womens Day, Staceyann Chin flew into Toronto to do a spoken word poetry reading on the Ryerson University campus.  If you dont already know who Staceyann Chin is, you must find out.  She is amazing and her memior she wrote about her life is deep.  It was the book of the summer last summer for us and I learned so much, her words, both written and spoken were so real and meaningful.....you could feel her pain, her passion and her honesty on every page, through every breath.  It was wonderful to meet her and talk to her.. and her best friend Raquel (who actually took the picture of us!).  She also signed our books (well a sticker for me cuz I lent out my book and cant find it). For those who dont know but are interested, the book is called The Other Side of Paradise. HUGE shoutouts and thank yous to Ryerson University for putting this event together. DROPPIN' KNOWLEDGE 1 YR ANN. VIDEO!

So I had to post this video for the homies, no question.  Introducing Droppin ' Knowledge: a series of Toronto based hip hop parties once a month, having just hit their 1 year anniversary!  My first DK party was early 2010 and they have been steadily gettin better since.  This particular night was also super special becuase it was DJ James Redi's birthday party, check him in the birthday glasses (curtosey of me! haha).  This video doesnt even fully capture the energy of the night, as well as missing out on the EPIC DJ James Redi drunken birthday FREESTYLE... Haha Yes, you read it right!

So much LOVE in one building, it was an EPIC night and I look forward to many many more.  If you havent attended a Droppin' Knowledge party as of yet, you better plan for the next one on March 4th at the Rivoli.  Speaking of which, ETERNIA will be headlining that night. DO NOT MISS IT!!!!!!!

Canada killllls me.. ITS TOOOOO COOOLD, ITS TOOOO HOTT.... OMG ITS SNOOOOOWING!!!!! Yes, it snowed! Like it has every winter since YOU WERE BORN.  Lol the media is ruled by fear, anyone who still cant recognize that needs to reevaluate their thought process.

For the first time in 12 YEARS the TDSB is having a Snow Day!!  Its funny becuase theres only like 3 inches of snow. Lol.  Its almost like they made such a big deal over it, theyre too embarrassed to back out now. Ha ha.  I dont mind, it means tobagganning!!!!!!!!
