DROPPIN' KNOWLEDGE 1 YR ANN. VIDEO!
So I had to post this video for the homies, no question. Introducing Droppin ' Knowledge: a series of Toronto based hip hop parties once a month, having just hit their 1 year anniversary! My first DK party was early 2010 and they have been steadily gettin better since. This particular night was also super special becuase it was DJ James Redi's birthday party, check him in the birthday glasses (curtosey of me! haha). This video doesnt even fully capture the energy of the night, as well as missing out on the EPIC DJ James Redi drunken birthday FREESTYLE... Haha Yes, you read it right!
So much LOVE in one building, it was an EPIC night and I look forward to many many more. If you havent attended a Droppin' Knowledge party as of yet, you better plan for the next one on March 4th at the Rivoli. Speaking of which, ETERNIA will be headlining that night. DO NOT MISS IT!!!!!!!

RIP Guru
Guru has passed away yesterday morning after a long battle with cancer. We are slowly losing all the greats, meanwhile mind-dumbing crap is in full produciton these days. Hip hop aint dead, its just becoming history...never let go of that history, hold on tight and breathe. RIP Gangstarr and thank you for your faithful service to the greater good of hip hop music. Onelove and blessings.

RIP Dolla
RIP DOLLA Born Roderick Anthony Burton II, 21 from Atlanta was shot in the head as he and several other people stood near the center's La Cienega Boulevard entrance of the Beverly Center in L.A. Although its not in the police report the shooting is assumed to be gang-related. After the shooting, Burton was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center a few blocks from the mall, where he died. Burton was an up-and-coming rapper who had recorded several singles. He was in town to work on his first album, slated to be released this summer on Jive Records. Although mixed up in some negativity, this man was very young and talented and his heart was good. The gun violence must stop. Guns dont kill people, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE. STOP the violence and spread the love.
This clip from Rap City is one of my favorites, when I first heard this he had already died and I was heartborken at the worlds loss of this beautiful mind and spirit.
Rest In Peace November 25, 1987 – May 18, 2009
